NYC Citibike Explained by Jeremy Sciarappa

The NYC Citibike will be launched on May 27th 2013 (Memorial Day). The bike share will allow natives and tourists to get around, with over 100 bike stations scattered throughout the city. This video will attempt to explain how it may work by visiting Paris' Velib bike share system. I've read a few articles that misinterpret the bike share system. The idea is simple, take out a bike, and return it within 30 minutes. For example, let's just say you need to travel 5 miles. There's no point in trying to reach your destination in one trip, because it might take more than 30 minutes. What you would do is, take out a bike, ride toward your destination and when you're about 20-25 minutes in, drop off the bike at a station. Take a quick break, take out another bike and drive toward your destination. If the second trip takes longer than 30 minutes, drop it off at a station, and take another one. This way, you will NOT be charged any extra fees. If you would like to know more information about the NYC Citibike, go to this link: http://citibikenyc.com/ Music by: BoCrew

So you name the video NYC Citibike Explained, then film the instruction instead on France's equivalent of the same? Does that make sense?
-
so, what happens when you steal it? does it have a tracker?

Bicycles are an inexpensive way to travel short distances.
Cities need to provide more safe bicycle and walking paths that connect homes, schools, businesses and jobs.
Businesses need to provide safe places to lock and store bicycles when shopping or at work.
Schools need to encourage children to ride a bicycle and parents need to stop driving their children to school. The children would be healthier and would get more exercise. It just might reduce the obesity epidemic in the world.
The air would be cleaner, people would save money on transportation costs, we would use less fossil fuels and we might just make a small impact on Climate Change. -
Between the traffic and these yuppie dorks on the Citibikes, it's a damn mess! Many of them(not all) speed through the red light when people are closing. Sometimes I want to clotheline their asses off the bikes when they do that. WTF is their hurry???

Incredible.Brainless yuppies actually PAYING to ride around on a bank advertisement.Never mind that bank is financing the real estate frenzy that's destroying New York's neighborhoods. Then they say "it's green!" to ride those bank ads while yapping on a cell phone that uses more energy than a refrigerator.

Citibikes are going to drop the price of Taxi medallions in New York City. You don't rely anymore only subway, Black car or Taxi to move. People with suits are using them and moving all over the city. It's the biggest hit to the Taxi industry in New York City.
-
The bank ad on wheels that only a nihilistic yuppie could love.Yuppies will pay any rent to live in NYC effectively culturally stripmining every affordable neighborhood, driving working class, born NY'rs out of their own city [or should I spell it Citi?].Then they celebrate the destruction by PAYING to advertise one of the mega banks responsible for the real estate greed. Finally, they claim it's for the environment.Every yuppie should be dragged into the streets and beaten like an ugly step child.

Thanks! Having your own bike is definitely a plus.

Try citibike share not working, on youtube.

On rainy days the charging doc stations will not allow you to retrieve or return bikes. I must apologize, but, that is just poetic. France is leading the way. Have a nice trip. There is an alternative, a gas powered generator. That is the extended backup power source for chevy volt. Ironic, huh?
