Don't know how it happened, but I went to the Desert and the ghost girl wasn't there, so thought I'd try going to the guy you find on Route 119 after the waterfall, so I talked to him, went to change bikes and then I got both bikes... I can't remember talking to the cyclist or the ghost girl...
