I used to ride my 750 honda with no helmet on Maui ,I was much younger an dumber , shit happens so fast and the tarmac is so hard ,my nephew Jesse was killed riding his push bike , a young girl came across 4 lanes of traffic and hit him , no helmet = massive head injuries ,

BTW the Grizzly is more of an all-terrain working farm quad which doubles up as a road quad (a kind of all-purpose quad) which might also be why it's tricky taking corners on-road. I've noticed that some of these racing-type quads (Raptor etc) designed specifically for tarmac have much wider axles and wheels and are therefore probably more stable when cornering.

Helmet not obligatory and it's correct that stone chips are unlikely but an insect hitting your face isn't. I wear one for comfort as much as safety (over 30mpg for any distance and you'll have red eyes just from the wind alone.) And in cold weather your face will be raw. But for just a couple of miles taking it steady on quiet roads in good weather, I wouldn't bother.

I own a road-legal Grizzly 700 and it is more tricky on corners than a motorbike. If you get it wrong you can roll it, and you can't lean a quad into the bends like a bike. You have to shift weight and lean your body into the bends even though the quad itself isn't leaning with you, which seems strange at first. This limits the safe speed for cornering. But it soon becomes second nature, I use mine often for local trips. Only thumb-throttle ache & 15mpg prohibit longer trips!

that's the first time i have ever seen someone ride one normally, and not like a dangerous twat.
-
well if he falls off and someone runs him over and kills him they have to deal with that shit ! get a helmet on !
-
who cares its his choice if he falls off or a stone hit him an he badly hurts himself then its his fault...
-
Nice helmet, waa fucking waa. Hes probably just driving it from one place to the other, its no massive deal, quit whining. As for whitbyjets comment about a stone flying up from the rear wheel of a car, thats a rare thing now with mud guards but secondly, that means we all need helmets, even if walking, fuck me lets just build a helmet and all live in it. Chill the fuck out.

This amazing man will take his son out one day, Kids will be saying to there mum"s and dad"s, Please, Please can we get one of those, Ten secs later There is a crash, The man and his son went into a car, The father is fine, But the son is dead, The police said if the boy was wearing a helmet, He would be alive today,

i love quad bikes but this guy is everything that's wrong with quad bike riders. he's all "look at me i'm on a quad"
-
Intelligent riders wear a helmet. You don't need a helmet in a car because you're sitting in a protective shell. Yes, you can legally drive a quad without one, but I never would!
-
no you dont but if you get hit by another vehicle or crash your fucked should really have full gear on like bikers it may have 4 wheels like a car but your missing a few thing like a shell and things that normally take impact but its legal and riders decision bad one on this riders part
-
you don't need one
-
it is registered like car need "B" cattegory of driving licence no need helmet or other. Do you wearing helmet in the car ? So?
-
