Race Motor Rebuild - TZ250
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
Riksfjord Racing - The Yamaha TZ 250 1987 is a full factory racing bike. It has a parallel twin, two stroke engine. Carburetors are rearward facing, with the exhaust leaving through the front of the cylinder bank. Video shows a full assembly, not a how to or tutorial.

Great video, brings back fond memories of my three TZs. This was one of the last years with parallel twin, right? later then went to a V twin layout

I remember i used to fit the piston down through the top if the cylinder with the inner gudgeon pin clip already fitted. Then i would fit the gudgeon pin half way and lower the cylinder onto the con rod. Then i just had to push the pin through the con rod and fit the outside clip, With some rag covering the bore in case i dropped the clip! I never fancied pushing the piston up through the cylinder as the rings were tight. Interesting video, I like the dry clutch!

Its very different from the 250 LC Road bike i used to have! My Cylinder head was one piece with two separate cylinders. The exhaust gaskets would work their way loose and start blowing!

Brings back memories...I raced motocross (earning two AMA Expert licenses) as a young teen and then raced a TZ-250 for one season in '75 when I was 17/18...my Dad was an engineer out at Cape Kennedy during my childhood and he was my main wrench (and financial sponsor:)...Thanx, again, POP.

The most expensive 250 Yamaha ever produced for it's time. I can still remember that 2 stroke smell and those power valves coming on line. As I worked for Yamaha for 5 years.
Great Stuff -
Hello everyone, I´m glad that there are a large number of fans and enthusiasts of the Wankel engine and 2-stroke engine, the truth is that they are good engines, but due to the increasing pollution problems are increasingly scarcer.
I have developed and patented two Hybrid Rotary Engines both 2 and 4 stroke, along with a new thermodynamic cycle "Cross cycle", that improves the cycles: Otto, Atkinson, Diesel, Miller and the recent HEHC Liquid Piston Engine. -
Broken clutch hub still being used:0

Hi linus !!! I'm rebuilding a TZR 125 R engine and i have a little question: what type of product are you using to close the gearbox (it seems like yellow and you put it with a little brush)
thanks !!! -
