I been temping to buy an ebike for my daily 44mi round trip commute to work.
So for this guy seems like the best one for me.... i have some semi steep hills, and will be using about 20% of the ride on bike trails.
2 things holding me back from buyin is..
After some research i figured the pedal motors are better than the wheel motors
Price.... i only spend about 700-800$ in gas each each. I have really nice car tires, already on 70,000 miles and still good tread. And i have only done 2 oil changes in 80k miles, which i do myself.
I really only drive to work and use a normal bike for other tasks when possible. I will have to keep my car, ins and registration for when its storming/hailing and such. -
have you guys ever considered making a video that outlines the battery system? I watched another video that said you use 18650 batteries. I am interested to know the technical aspects like which 18650 cells you use (panasonic, lg, etc), is there there BMS, what type of charger is used and to what voltage are they charged, battery mapping (it's what 48 volts so I assume there are four 12 volt cells with 18650 batteries) how many 18650s total, what kinds of overcharge and undercharge protection is on each 18650 cell, etc. You know, all the nerd talk. I am totally buying this one in the coming months and I wanna know everything about it. I want to be able to charge the battery via foldable solar panels that I have while on the go. I assume if I open up the battery box it voids the warranty. Is there a possible way to purchase an additional battery so that I can open it up and tinker? maybe I will upgrade cells or add a BMS if there is not one etc.

Sorry if this has been asked... what is the range on a full charge when using pedal assist vs just throttle? And I know its 20mph max... But I have to ask, is there a secret mode to go faster? :) I really like the looks of this fat bike and because of the price range. Am seriously considering of picking one up.. Thx!
