A Bicycle Factory - from the beginning; the design on paper, the raw materials, what goes to make the steel tubes of the frames, the handle bars, the gear wheels, the pedal cranks, the pedals, the spokes, the wheels and the hubs, until at last the complete bicycle is ready for testing. My country was under British rule when this video was made.. now, i'm getting my first MTB, that too from Raleigh, TERRAIN 10 - 29ER..
but what a great video... -
I have a 1951 model which I still ride around. I also found out recently that Raleigh still makes this bike for the Indian market (only), marketed by Suncross bikes.

These bikes were shipped in every part of the world , but I don't think you will see any of them in the USA.Because United States have their own bicycle plant. That the reason why these bikes look different from the one in the US.You could see the difference between a Robin Hood bicycle in place like Haiti or Jamaica back then compare to the one made in the US.

These bikes were made with so much care. They were so comfortable. You will ride them miles away without worrying about stop in the middle of nowhere.

Better Than the Chinese Junk! There selling now

Fascinating video. Things have changed from the days when a company made everything, to the modern culture of sub-contracting components and assemblies. You can tell that Health and Safety issues were not so dominant in the 1940s too!
