Subscribe to GamerMuscleVideos here : https://www.youtube.com/user/GamerMuscleVideos In this Episode of VR BUMP we review REDOUT on the HTC VIVE. Redout is a futuristic racing game capturing game play somewhere in between FZero and Wipeout, needless to say its a fantastic game to play on a screen but when it comes to VR the implementation is a bit lackluster. Get REDOUT on steam here : http://store.steampowered.com/app/517710/ GOOD - Fast smooth game play - Lots of tracks - Constant upgrades and many veichals to try - Really nice minimal graphics and art style - Game play that captures the essence of early 2000s sci-fi racer - AI put up a good challenge - Gold silver and bronze medals placed well - Really nice sound design BAD - VR implementation will make most sick - Erratic frame rate in VR - Player view limited in VR - Menus in VR are more intense than a theme park ride - Chaperone does not fade off so you have to be in middle of play space - Some aspects of sense of speed are lost in VR - Not many people racing online ------------------------------ Aditional info Production Music courtesy of Epidemic Sound: http://www.epidemicsound.com

I was thinking about getting this for VR, but I'll just stick with EVE:Valkyrie as my main game for a sense of speed.
This makes me wish that something like Riptide GP2 had VR support. -
thanks man

yeah.. no word about game phisics. its nearly uncontrolable. I play it hard over 3 hours, and i always finish 6. I dont know how to make better when your bolid crashes in every turn. fuck this game!

Is this as good as the Gamecube F-Zero? That game kicked ass. Hard as hell though.

Great review GMV, when you switched to monitor the difference was plain to see . thanks to redout I now know about memory leakage lol , good fun game tho'

Agreed on all points. I bought this game specifically for VR, but performance issues (I cannot maintain 90 fps on any setting with a gtx 1080 in VR*) and a certain lack of 'oomph' combine to make that a non-starter. Luckily I am a fan of the genre in general, and as you say the desktop game is simply fantastic - slick, fun and very very fast. It also runs at a ridiculous frame rate without serious drops at high resolution.
*I've heard it suggested that the game runs better with reprojection turned off, so I will have to give that a try.
Thanks for the video, I'm off to browse your channel now :) -
Hi,
Nice video. It looks so nice. Can you please make review of smell of death horror fps vr game too.I think you like it store.steampowered.com/app/445140 -
The only performance issue i had was when i change the graphic setting in the same session. If you change some setting, reboot your game and you might be fine.
Except the lack of different point of view in VR, i found the VR implementation really good. The menu in VR are really basic but i don't expect anything more from them.
Thks for the review. -
If anyone has any tips for new players, write them here! thx

You should look into "Vector 36" at some point, if you are into VR racing games. And play it with a HOTAS or similar, trust me ;).
-
i enjoy this game but yeah it does have performance issues even in 2d at times
-
thanks for the £25 savings

Amazing game...on a monitor. Tried it once on my Vive, won't be doing it a second time!
-
Your VR game coverage is top notch. Thanks to you I picked up a few games that you have reviewed to try out my new Vive.
-
whats your gpu and processor, my 980ti is struggling even on low settings with this
-
Really good review, love your enthusiasm and energy too. Need a cheesy outro line, though. :D
-
I guess I wont be buying this one then

Nice review, I was thinking of picking this up specifically for VR, now I'll be getting it for my 2d screen because I really do like the genre, and it does look amazing in that regard.
