This is a safety feature - Yes - of course it is - probably the most important requirement of bike lights.
Then when making a professional video surely the cyclist should be wearing a helmet? He's just in his shorts and t-shirt.
Whenever I see someone on a bike with no helmet I assume they've nicked it as they were obviously unprepared for the ride.
The lights are very clever indeed, but this video does not do them justice. -

Is it just me or is the visibility of the bike from the drivers perspective @ 0:48 really poor? I would consider that light very easy to miss, compared to any semi decent traditional front cycle light.
