The main cause is that he was using aero bars meaning his breaking time (or reaction) is a lot slower. Lucky that it was a low speed crash not race speeds or down hill speeds. It seems like the group has just finished a hard ride and is doing a warm down tempo (a slower speed to cool down after a effort)

I ride road and mountain. riders of both disciplines can learn a lot from one another. a road biker who also mountain bikes probably would have ridden that out and then fixed his front QR. also, it's common to rub your front tire on the tire of someone in front of you while mountain bikeing....just to be a jerk hahaha

AHAHAHAHAHAHA
-
stupid street bikes. skinny tires - lousy brakes and they are ridden too fast - takes 50 miles to get a partial workout - if you are going 35 mph you should be on a motorcycle - ride a mountain bike through grass - no traffic and get a full workout in 4 miles vs 50 on a stupid street bike

lol
-
And that's why you don't tailgate
-
I go way faster than that on dirt on mu kick dirt scooter.
-
moral of the story never trust the guy in front
-
Around 7 mph .

back break ! no use the back break ! haha!
-
why not fall in the grass ?
-
Silly triathletes!
-
guys fault clearly went too close to bike in front and clipped wheel

There's something to be said about cycling alone. Also new cyclist should travel alone for a while gain experience before riding in groups.

lol awesome video

he simply didn't have time to brake as his hands were on the aero bars, otherwise I think this accident could have been avoided. I don't understand why people use aero bars when ridding in a bunch, unless they were training for a team time trial.

He kind of got away with that unscathed, until the bloody potholes!

what he gets for wheelsucking
