Road Bike of the Year 2015 - The Top 3
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
Three of the very best road bikes available for £1500-2500, the Cannondale Synapse Carbon Disc, GT Grade Carbon and BMC Granfondo GF01 battled it out over Cycling Plus' most gruelling review test to date. There could only be one winner though, and this year it's the BMC.

Racing bikes that look and handle like big stupid mountain bikes. Who started this shit with sloping top tubes. Oh sorry I forgot it for a more relaxing ride. If you are a Racing cyclist yr more worried about speed and handling and getting around bends. Total shit is what that bike looks like. Sorry but it does.

UGLY BMC frames.

Really? The winner bike uses the faulty Shimano R785. Here you have another failure of Shimano R785 hydraulic disc brakes. This time in English: http://www.bikeradar.com/road/news/article/shimano-r785-road-hydraulic-disc-caliper-failure-45088/

whats with the tow in handle bar ? even the shifters are angled ..

what a load of rubbish! these are cross/commuter bikes...im a cyclist and i want to see the likes of pinerello-dolan-canyon-de-rosa etc etc...with either eps of di-2 group sets not bloody 105 bottom of the range gearing.....

"so who do you think is going to buy the GT Grade?" Nobody IMHO.. People generally want to have the same bikes they see the pros riding and winning on. Even the older guys, who you'd think want something more comfortable, are out there riding in Venges, Merida Reactos, Cervelos etc and so on. And why doesn't the Specialized Tarmac, the single most successful grand tour bike of the last decade ever make it on your lists?

Great little vid (I am biased as having just bought a GT Grade 105 off the spec sheet I am very happy to see a positive review!).
Really good to see you rating highly for the fun factor, rather than just pro porn, anyone can do that, and lots of mags/sites do. -
i got the BMC though but not discs breaks

awesome video thanks so much. I want the bmc and the gt!

if you buy a frame or a bike buy it the smallest size possible for your height with a relaxed geometry. the reason for you can set up a bike that has a relaxed geometry to be either relaxed or aggressive where as a bike with just an aggressive geometry you are just to only an aggressive set up. my method and the pros methods they buy a frame with a relaxed geometry and the smallest possible size for there height. seat height is important I have a 30 inside leg from floor to pelvic bone. the perfect seat height for me is 26/26.5 inches these measurements are for both with and without cleated shoes. I used my method of whilst seated place one foot on the ground resting it on the ground with the ball of your foot comfortably with your heel comfortably raised. then adjust slightly to preference. this method works with the times your inside leg by 0.xx I cant remember the numbers but it does work. if you position your seat angle and position over the bottom bracket so your body is central over the bottom bracket axel. reach must be comfortable and relaxed on the tops and aggressive for the drops. as long as you have the correct bike fit and a bike the fits you it doesn't matter what bike you ride. my advise on the disc break situation go or stay mechanical. mechanical disc breaks last longer and require less fuss of maintenance the only thing you will have to do every now and again is adjust them which can do whilst riding if needed.

Its a pity the BMC has external cables it really takes away from the look of the bike.
