Sachs X-Road - Exhaust Removed
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
Saturday afternoon boredom led me into thinking 'what would the Sachs X-Road sound like if I removed the final exhaust box silencer and ran it with a straight-through pipe [MotoGP style]?'. The results were astounding [and ear bleeding!], considering this is purely a single cylinder SOHC four stroke 125cc block. After-market parts are very hard to come across for this bike [due to it's odd rarity], and so I am now looking into adapting a factory exhaust for road use. The exhaust the bike ships with is distinctly silenced by a lot of baffling. Bear in mind, how I was running it in the video is highly illegal and would not pass anywhere unnoticed [hence the ear guards im wearing]. This was made evident by a few car alarms being set off when making a test run down my road and neighbours staring out of windows. Just a bit of fun. Any questions relating to the X-Road, leave a comment and I'll get back to you. If anyone has any advice regarding after-market parts, let me know! Inspired by the incredible works of the Weller Brothers, owners of Weller Racing Co. http://www.wellerracingcorporation.com/ This is your one-stop shop for anything exhaust related if you own a Sachs XTC or Honda CBR.

Sorry mate, I haven't owned this bike for a good 3 years now, so I don't know. It's a relatively rare bike, so you're going to find it hard to come across major exhaust brands like Arrow, LeoVince, Akrapovic etc producing aftermarket parts. Your best bet would be to see if you could get an exhaust customer fabricated. But, of course, that means money!

@KnutHeibo Heya. I don't know myself, as I never actually touched the filler for the X-Road. Your best bet for reference/asking questions is to check out the response video above 'Sachs X-Road optic & sound tuning' [FSzzjoFdWHs].

Hey dude! : D I got a sachs and i were wondering where the filling is.. ? any idea of where it is : ) ? Thanks : )

Odd. Like I said, the only thing I could think it could be is that the choke cable is faulty. I had my choke cable fail 3 during my time with the bike. To check, you should pinch the cable where it meets the engine and adjust the choke lever to see if the cable moves inside. If not, you have a problem. Beyond that, I really have no idea I'm afraid. If it's in warranty, get your local dealer to check it out or at least have a chat with them about it. Best of luck!

Glad to hear you're having a good time with you X-Road. With regards to spare parts/better exhausts, I was unable to find any. I myself have moved onto a Yamaha YZF-R125 now which is far more common. Deacceleration is never going to be smooth on a short geared 125. You always change down as late as possible in order to save the engine and gears. If this is not your problem, you might want to look at your choke cable to see if it is working correctly, as this can cause overrun problems.

well i can ask my dealer, he should know. i dont think that this is a problem.. at least, youre not overseas... yeah, my english is probablyacceptable, but it SHOULD be much better, since ive learnt it for about 10 years, especially the last two of them..
-
Really? Parts are impossible to find in this country. Do you know of any companies that will ship internationally? P.s Your English is fine ;]
-
well its pretty easy to get a NEW one(from china), but those are crap.. the good ones(made in germany) are really hard to find... but the parts are no prob. can be ordered "everywhere"
-
I'm at university at the moment, so I don't have time to ride it =[ But, I will do when I go home this Christmas. Maybe then I will upload some more videos! =]

They are pretty hard to get hold of over here. I was lucky enough to come across a dealer local to me! I didn't think it would be THAT hard in Germany?! Have you found any after-market parts at all like mud guards or sprockets? I can't find anything!
-
yeah, thats grrrreat :) and i hav one too, but ´didnt come to drive it til now.. anyway, i wondered how hard it is to get one in uk? it was hard enough for me, in germany, where they once had been produced xD sry for my bad english ;)
-
dude...can you upload more clips with your x-road...i like it... :) thx any way... peace...
-
I'm glad you like it! =] Start saving now and I'm sure you'll be able to afford it one day! It's worth every penny. Just don't end up buying a scooter/moped like everyone else... be different!

Glad to see someone interested in the X-Road! Top speed is realistically around 60mph/90kmph. I'm sure it could go beyond this, but you would be pushing the redline and damaging the engine. It really needs a larger rear sprocket, but these are impossible to find. Compared to it's 2-stroke equivalents, acceleration is not as good, but more than enough. It's made up for by having a 4-stroke rumble instead of 2-stroke 'hair-dryer' experience.
