Troy Gielish about a patrol bike specifically made for officers. Safariland partnered with Kona International, a company with over 24 years of experience in mountain bikes, to design it. Sgt. Gielish assisted in conceptualizing the bike. Special features include 26- or 29-inch wheel options, lightweight and strong aluminum construction, ergonomic grips, internal cable housing, hydraulic brakes, LED lighting and 30 speed settings. The bike can be ordered now through local shops; however, they won't be available to ship until May.

Real world testing will show if this bicycle stands up. The price is good for all the features.

This guy clearly has no idea what he is talking about. The police ride these bikes on the road. Why the fuck would you need a 29in hardtail with hydros on the rode? There is a reason no one makes a stock mountain bike with an integrated rack: it's a stupid idea.

Wow. The only bikes I've seen cops on have been junk. This obviously isn't. I have owned a few Kona's in my lifetime (Kula King Supreme, Hei Hei). They are the bomb. Makes me want another one. The bad guys are going to be easier to catch if the police are riding these!!
