With Europe doing so much to clean their air, improve their urban environments and reduce their national CO2 levels, bikes and their diversity are filling a need. What I like is that they are thinking about the riders and making room for them with wide bike lanes and bike racks. They also have excellent public transportation in Amsterdam so owning a car in the city has more costly disadvantages as time goes by, and it doesn't help the health of the rider or driver like the bike. As gas prices continue to go up, the bike and the electric car will reign supreme.
