Sam sits down with us for a quick discussion about the early dirt bikes he owned. After starting his dirt bike journey on a trusty Honda, Sam talks about making the switch to KTM and now he's never looked back. He also talks about his transition from 4 strokes over to 2 strokes.

when I was looking to get my first dirt bike i wanted a yamaha yz 125 or 250 so bad. I loved the brand, i had yamaha guitar too. And i loved the looks of yz. I taught I'd never even look at other bikes but then edventually I searched ktm:s (they were too expensive), kawasakis (no good ones close to where I live), suzuki rm:s (they were good looking and worked well), and there were many good yz:s near where I live but still i bought a honda cr 125. That was the last brand i'd ever choose but still it turned out to be the bike i most wanted. (Im still dreaming about a new yz 125, that bike is just my all time favourite :D)

Mine was 2000 xr80, then to 1999 cr80, then to 1992 rm250 (it was junk), then to 2004 yz125, and now I ride a 2004 crf250r. Loving it. Looking forward to purchase a brand new ktm within the next couple years.

i am thinking on buy a dirtbike, but i only find road not legal, what sgould i do? should i pick a road legal or not?

i started off on a green 50cc quad when i was 5, then got a 97 cr80, which was awesome, now i have a 00 yz250.

My first bike was a Klx 110 and now my current is a Klx 140l but I plan on getting a Ktm 250sx or 125 possibly...

always had jap bikes as a kid as my dad is one of them KTM'S are to expensive for parts ect type of dudes just got my first self brought dirt bike its an 09 model KTM 200 EXC an I love it.

I started with a Honda Xr 200r and I'm still with it. I wish one day I could buy a ktm 300 six days vesion or a 350 XC-W

Great video! I started at 14 with an Aprilia RX 50cc (1994, 2t), then Aprilia Rx125 (1996, 2t) and then got a 1999 Yamaha WR250 (2t) 3 years later. The WR was such a great bike! I stopped riding dirt bikes in 2002, until a year ago, when I got a 2015 Husqvarna Fe250 (4t). Great bike but the engine was (to me) the biggest disappointment. Lots of flameouts, low torque at very low rpms, I feel that the old Yamaha, although it was a 1999 bike vs a 2015 bike, was a better bike thanks to a MUCH better engine. Today I finally sold my FE250....and will be taking delivery of a 2017 Beta XT 300 (2t) at the end of this month....I can't wait!! I guess it's all a matter of preferences....but on slow technical riding with very poor traction....2 stokes rule.

I ride cr500 its to big but... It's fun. Got it from a guy who thought it was seized turns out it was just stuck in gear.

I went from a mini bike 50 3.5 hp to honda cr250 80 hp

Started at 7 on a replica CR50, went to a 110 quad (Can't remember the model) got a 125 pitbike, then swapped to an RM125, Back down to an RM80, up to a ruined YZ125 and now on a 125 Yamaha DTR which is me and my old mans project bike.

why dose every one think 4weelrs are safer then bikes ??
