Schwinn Catalina Cruiser Bicycle Overview--Sweet Rides!
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
Originally recorded June 1, 2014. This is a quick overview of the Catalina Cruiser Bikes from Schwinn. All in all, nicely made, nicely appointed, and a comfortable ride. If you're looking for a bicycle in this style and category, this would be a great choice. They are equipped with 7-speed Shimano shifters. The last time I bought a bike was probably a good 20 years ago or so, at a garage sale. That bike had a 3-speed planetary gearbox. The wife had a 10-speed bike that was either a hand-me-down or some curbside discount (garbage-picked) that was worn out to start with. It's nice having new bikes. They don't really ride terribly different from any other bike I've had, it's not like that "new car feel", but nothing shakes, rattles, squeaks, etc. Everything just works. Looks like these will be serving us for quite some time to come. The styling always turns heads!

Riding a bike is fun and good exercise.........walking, bicycles and mass transit will all be part of making cities livable.
Ride to school.........ride to work.........ride for fun...........
Bike to work day should be everyday..... employers needs to provide places to park and lock bicycles and encourage employees to ride a bicycle to work. Children should be riding a bike to school instead of being dropped off by their parents. Cities need to do more to provide safe walking and biking trails and paths that connect homes, schools and businesses. Speak up and ask for more bicycle paths in your community. Obesity is a growing problem around the world leading to an increase in heart disease, cancer and high blood pressure. Walking and biking can help improve health. -

Saw one of these in Sears today and thought they were cool. Right decision in assembling it yourself. When I bought my current bike from Wal Mart there were all kinds of things that needed adjusting. Even bikes bought from Bike shops are adjusted and tuned before they hand them over to you. Do yourself a favor if you do get one from a chain store, do it yourself if you can if not take it to a shop to have it looked at and adjusted. You'll save yourself lots of heartache and you won't crash the first time out. My bike is also a Schwinn, a mountain bike that I eventually put cruiser style handlebars on for a more upright riding position. They are solid bikes.

Ah someone else who says "no thanks" to free assembly - I had to get with a supervisor when I bought my BBQ grill because they didn't want to sell me a non assembled grill. I'd much rather put it together myself. Same with vehicle maintenance rather do it myself.
Nice bikes tho - reasonably priced to boot.
