SCOTT's NEW 27.5" Plus Bikes – How Do 27.5"+ Or "Mid-Fat" Bikes Ride?

We were at the launch of SCOTT's 27.5" Plus range. Excited? This video has everything you need to know about the bikes and this new wheel standard. Subscribe to GMBN: http://gmbn.eu/Subscribe 27.5" Plus wheels combine the best of a couple of worlds. Obviously the wheel size sits between 26" and 29", and, the tyre width sits between standard tyres and fat bikes at 2.8" to 3.0" wide. The rim width is wide to cope with the tyres, and the frame and fork clearances are increased to match. These bikes occupy a mid-point. We know that 26" bikes are incredibly fun, and, we know that 29" are fun too, but with different benefits. We know that fat bikes have a really unique ride quality, and, we all ride, and love standard width tyres (or, let's face it, we probably wouldn't be mountain bikers). So, will 27.5"+ take advantage of all the great qualities and provide the best of four worlds? Check out the video, like and share and tell us your thoughts in the comments. Hello Guys, amazing chanel. Congrats!
I own this bike The Scott Genius Tuned Plus (not the LT).
Quick question: How can you tell the Height of a drop that this bike can handle?
thanks!! -
I can't keep up with these new wheel size standards. regular 27.5 will probably be my last mtb wheel size.
If they kill off the 27.5 for the 27.5+ bike, i will probably not upgrade and ride my 27.5 till the components break and go back to riding 20's. -
Want to try one of these out. I love my niners so would probably feel right at home on 1.

I'm falling in love with MTB, too bad they are so expensive

I thought they meant scott as one of the presenters

I take a scale 27.5+ and had great fun on it and am now looking into getting one. And love the look of the genius 27.5+.

-
i wonder how a mid fat bike would go in the snow??
-
Could you do more on the 27.5+ hard tail

I think the Genius looks the business. I've just ordered a 2015 XL KTM Lycan 272 frame & fork (fox) and I'll be putting my old parts on it when it arrives. 27.5 is just right for me as I'm 6ft 2.5 inches.

27.5+ is stupid and will never replace plain old 27.5. Really hope it doesn't catch on.
-
26" plus would be cool !
-
650b/27.5 seems to be the future of enduro. Love my yeti with 26" but test rode a 27.5 sb6c and would trade my bike for it any day. That Scott bike looks like quality too, might look into it. Love the vids, cheers
