oooooorrrrrrr you could go 1×

Tom Tom. I always understood that gears lose much less energy than chains. Something to do with stretching being multiplyed by the number of links.

danamic bicycles- i want to purchase just the chainless system. i have the bike i want already . please direct me to just the chainless hub system.

Well... shaft-drive have a high energy-loss usually (about 30% compared to chain) and are heavier... On a bicycle, these are bigger drawbacks in my opinion than ease of use and ease of maintenance (and smooth shifting).
But if y ou have managed to overcome, at least partially, these drawbacks, this could be interesting! -
I use an 11-1 28 teeth chain ring full suspension stumpy. I could get away with 5-6 gears, but a worm drive bike is just to out there for real mountain biking
-
impossible in a fullsus bike
-
make one full suspension with 160mm
66 head angle
you have a winner -
do prefessioal cyclists use these,.

thanks I like it it's beautiful

+Mike Green Thats a relief

this technology is not new 1897 model is quadrant shaft driven bycicle in wikipedia.

i like my 21 speed bike give me 21 speeds or 24 then ill reconsider
-
how about the speed ratio when its compared to the normal chain drive bicycle
-
at this moment in time i am currently working on a better system,as of now people are not to interested in the chainless bike, and it really has not cought on,most stolen inventions dont do well because of the universal carmatic effect! the infinate does not like a thief.
-
im the true inventor of the chainless bike, befor i was able to get a patent i had a so called friend keep the drawings of my invention,it was originally called the no slip power gear, the other copy was lost in a storage in orlando florida, please post somthingif you have any info that would help prove this invention is mine.

This new arrangement makes one of those horizontal supporting bars redundant. (The one just above the shaft). May be it can be removed.

..

This is how I see it (my opinion): External+chain shifting = Pro racing car (gear stick) This internal shifting = A suburban mom driving a Sienna (automatic).
-
It sounds like a cool concept but I'm in South Korea so it doesn't do me any good.
