Should you start on a 1000cc Sportbike?

I started riding on a Yamaha R1 in 2012. Two years later, I'm still here (and still riding). Here are my thoughts on the great debate... Getting an R1 as your first bike. (Or any other 1000cc + sportbike).

Hey guys! For the guys out there who are wondering what bike to get, just get what you really want. Before I bought my GSXR 1000, I had very little riding experience and I must say guys, it's not that terrifying. Starting on a 1000cc bike is no joke, but it's not impossible. The bike has all the potential to do 300kph, but the bike only responds to your command. If you respect the bike, it will respect you. I still have a lot to learn, but you just have to be an adult about it. The gixxer 1000 is a really easy bike to ride, it's comfortable and it's fun. Guys just creep and walk before you start to run and give yourself enough time to become very comfortable in each stage of your progression.

i also hava an R1 but mine is from 99 and also my first bike :) i like to see a motovlogger with the same kind of bike

You have 100% the right attitude.

I get a kick of how you don't advise it. On the other hand you have this pompousness about how you did it and no one else should. As if you have some special ability.YOUR WORDS--- But no one stopped you from doing it! You did it anyway, right people do what they want. If you can avoid it I wouldn't do it, to be honest, (but i did). Start on a smaller cc bike, even though I didn't(cuz I'm a fucking degenerate idiot). The first bike you rode was the safety class. YOU'RE A FUCKING IDIOT. not because you ride the bike you have, but because your a fucking hypocrite. FUCK

I have been watching vids like this for almost 1 year and a half. I have been on 750cc dual sports but only as a passenger. The power was amazing but what i really want is a supersport. Since I am a 17 year old pretty muscular 6foot3 guy, I believe that an r1 would be great for me and since I was a passenger on that bike, i started getting into this whole big awesome and beautiful world of riding.. but only from my chair... with my headphones and screen on. I am willing to buy a good 2006+ year motorcycle... And what I want to choose between an r1 and r6. You motovloggers made me love riding. Now i feel it is in my blood. I can't say I am mature for sure, but I really love my life man. Hopefully one day I will be doing what you guys do everyday. Keep riding and keep living guys. I wish the only day that your bike breaks down is from the thousands of miles on that engine. Long live to every biker. One day I wanna be one of you.
Also sorry for any mistakes I might have done, English isn't my mother language. -
Go and kill yourself then, 1000cc sports bike aint no joke !!!

Yes, get a 1000.
Get a fast bike, the fastest, and set the rev limiter to 4000rpm for break in, then gradually up the rev limiter as you get used to the bike. -
I'm curious. It took you a month to get your bike ready to ride? You bought a fixer upper?
-
I'm taking the Basic Riders Course in a week or 2 and I'm planning on maybe talking my bro to selling me his Yamaha R6 for my first bike. He had never ridden a bike in his life and as soon as he gets his R6 he does stupid shit like go 120 mph on a two lane road.
