4. Just this morning Oct.29 in Houston Texas. a couple was killed while waiting at a traffic light. A truck plowed into them from the rear. First leave an escape route, always keep watching 360 degrees around you and lane split when you can. The people vehemently against lane splitting use"is not safe" as an excuse. Their real problem is envy and jealousy. Like a toddler they can't stand you skipping then in line. I once came to an intersection with a right turn cut off. A truck was partially blocking the turn off so no car could proceed. I split the lane and went through the gap to make the turn. Well the jackass who couldn't fit anyway started blowing his horn all pissed off. He was sitting there upset while I was a couple of miles down the road. Don't worry about if lane splitting is safe. Just Watch for motorcycles and stay out of the way.

9. Hehe .. I live in Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia and filtering is legal here as it is safer for both riders and drivers..a win win situation. Here if you stay at the back of the vehicles they will horn your as you are blocking their way / view ..

12. You only allowed to filter between slow moving vehicles and at a speed of no more than 30kph ,,so zipping through traffic along the hi way at anything above 30kph is totally Illegal ...

Filtering is legal in Queensland and South Australia in Australia but there IS a spread limit in which your allowed to filter ,I was on the express way and a guy went past me filtering through cars at 90 to 100kph and I pulled up to him in town and asked what he was doing ,,Filtering Man its legal now! I says yes but what you were doing was Zig Zaggin .. I filter too but I suggest everyone read up on the rules and understand the whole concept on Why , When and How to filter ,,,road rules CAN be changed back if it becomes a issue .

18. filtering through stopped or very slow moving traffic is fine, at the speed he was going is dangerous. Someone to pull left or right without seeing him will have him off. just because it is legal it doesn't make it safe.

While the Australian Road Rules and WA Road Traffic Code 2000 do not explicitly ban lane splitting/filtering, they do prohibit the practice by virtue of the fact that a number of other rules may be and are regularly contravened during the manoeuvres, such as not signalling before a lane change, riding with the wheels on the lane line, crossing continuous lane lines, safe overtaking and so on.
