Somebody Tried to Steal My Bike...

► Whatever happened with that bike thief? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36HpVeoafB4 My caliper lock: Kryptonite 000877 Keeper 5s Black Chrome Disc Lock http://amzn.to/2bmve2g Roll-away thefts are a common method of theft for motorcycles. A roll away thief will break a steering lock, quietly roll the bike out of sight, and then hotwire and ride it away. There are many other methods of motorcycle theft, but this is a relatively simple and low-effort one. Having your motorcycle be stolen can be incredibly frustrating, and very heartbreaking. Most commonly, motorcycles are stolen from public parking, but a more ambitious thief may even steal motorcycles from secured parking areas or from a garage. A thief can strike in minutes, leaving you rideless. There are a variety of precautions you can take to prevent motorcycle theft. This includes being mindful of where you park, covering your bike, and even your selection of motorcycle come into play. Common motorcycles are stolen more often because the parts will move better. However, less common bikes can have some value, too, because their parts can be hard to find. A caliper lock is not the end-all to preventing motorcycle theft, but it is a cheap option that may prevent less ambitious thieves. The ultimate goal of a security system is not to prevent the theft, but to make stealing your motorcycle harder than stealing others so it becomes "not worth it." Other methods of anti-theft prevention may be more effective, but for the price of a cheap lunch, you can have some basic motorcycle security that'll fit in a pocket. For a simple peace of mind, I'd highly recommend a caliper lock. where did u get ur lock

You should lock that on the front rotor instead of the rear rotor.
If they want to drag it off, they can just skid the rear tire. If you lock up the front rotor, it will just try to flip the bike when they push it. They can try to carry the front, but if anyone has tried picking up the front of their own bike and then walk-yeah a lot easier said then done.
So, just lock up the front as the only benefit of locking up the rear is the really ambitious thief can swap the front tire or remove the brake assembly. With the chain, the rear tire is harder to remove in a hurry. -
