Speedvagen Road Disc Bicycle Rogue Warrior If zipping around on a made-to-order, durable, and nimble road bike is part of your summer plans, consider the Speedvagen Road Disc bicycle. Speedvagen is a brand of the Vanilla Workshop, a Portland, Ore., company that has been producing custom bicycles since 1999. Company founder and owner Sacha White built the first Speedvagen in 2006 as his personal race bike, and like those that have followed, it was made to be ridden hard. The bikes also can be ridden comfortably—for hours and hours—and they handle high speeds well, are great on the curves, and are well balanced for uphill stretches. Standard features include steel brake bridges with stainless-steel reinforcement plates; steel-alloy and stainless-steel Berzerker dropouts; and an integrated, rider-specific steel seat mast. The bike is available in a range of colors and with a variety of graphics packages. The company also offers frame upgrades and optional components that include a carbon seat-post assembly, road and cyclo-cross disc brakes, and a carbon-fiber seat tube. The starting price for a fully customized, made-to-measure bike is $4,950. Notes: Starting at $3,750 for the stock frame set (the frame, an ENVE carbon fork, and an integrated seat-post head)
