Sportbikes, Cruisers, First Bike - Motorcycles
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
Trying to talk about Sport bikes VS Cruisers, but for the 2nd video in a row fail to keep on topic. But I do talk about mainly motorcycles in this vid. Just not the pros and cons of two types like I wanted.

this seems like terrible advice to give new riders, never put yourself in a dangerous position trying to match someone more experienced than yourself. this is why so many young twats kill themselves doing double or triple the speed limit in built up areas sigh. You're right about buying a cheap, reliable bike that you're not worried about crashing but, buying a 2 banger racer isn't a great idea either lol because it encourages you to be stupid. buy a naked or something easy to handle like a small/mid size cruiser and take it easy for at least a year, get some confidence up and if you want to ride aggressively save it for the track or the middle of nowhere where you won't get killed and ruin a driver's life for hitting you. We all have to respect each other and every driver on the road. sorry for the preachy rant, just hate seeing new riders and especially friends who are new to it get hurt because they try too hard or put themselves in dangerous situations

After riding for now roughly 40 years one thing I have learned is that young men take unnecessary risks and older men, being more mature, less testing of their abilities and show boating... they ride safer. My personal observation and may not apply to everyone of course. For a 1st street bike I would recommend staying away from all the bikes on the insurance industry list of high risk motorcycles (generally racing bikes -- "crotch rockets"). Also I would recommend getting something with enough power to get you out of a "hairy situation" -- those under powered MCs and scooters can't get out of the way of anything and on a MC when things have happened to me they seem to happen in slow motion and I seem to have plenty of time to take evasive moves (since I have the power -- HD VRSCDX). Also, a full face modular helmet is the way to go I think. Most impacts from spills are on the chin (so statistics show) -- good way to make your pretty/handsome face ugly from this point forward. Another tip... assume that at sometime you will take a fall... You don't wan't to be in the situation where you are saying, "If I could do it all over I would..." Get a good jacket, riding pants, boots, full gloves and put Sas-Tec or 3DO armor in it and throw out the fake stuff that likely came with your gear!! Make sure you are buying armor from a reputable company that can show you their EN-1621 certificate (there is no such thing as CE level 3 armor folks! -- It doesn't exist in the standard and EVERY time I have seen it - it was cheapo useless open cell low density foam garbage). Concentrate on your riding and improving your riding skills EVERY time you get out on the road. Don't be distracted by music, smoking, or trying to drink a milkshake while you are riding.

M13 is damn right. The first bike is always awesome. I started on a Kawi Ninja 250R; it was like a dream the first time I rode it.

There are times when sliders do help. In tip-overs and low speed crashes, frame sliders can reduce the amount of damage. But even with sliders in place, bars still get bent/broken and bodywork still gets scratched. To me, less-scratched-up bodywork is not a big bonus.

im gonna buy a used 600 or somthing for my first bike, and get sliders n shit so i dont break it lol i ride motocross so im not completely retarded, just weak HA

that must be a badass biker bar in foriegn countries. there's a bunch of mopeds and 250's in the parking lot.

@DCleroy honestly i think an 883 isnt a bad start since it's a cruiser, just get something cheap that you wont mind scratching up, cause ALMOST everyone drops their first bike, i fucked up buying a brand new bike.. dropped it on gravel.. just cracked a piece (barely) so it wasnt really that noticeable.. then i had a car pull out in front of me.. so i ended up laying it down there as well.. along with another time when i was almost completely stopped in my driveway.. arriving at my bday party...
