I totally I agree with you. On Christmas Eve I witnessed one of my body almost got hit by a car. It was so close that he Unclip is left leg and rest it on the car hood it was crazy!!!!! So many people text and Drive its ridiculous, I myself purposely look for places to ride where there are no cars. Went gravel riding for the first time on my trek Farley did 30miles and it was absolutely amazing had gators on the side of the road as well i live in Florida it was a epic ride for sure.

This was a good video

The sad/funny part is i want a bike that is a do it everything because i think it will go well with my 5 other bikes! The optimal number of bikes is N+1 where N= the number of bikes you currently own

A 1 x isn't like you state. Many gears overlap.

I'm an old runner -- or WAS an old runner. I loved training on back, gravel roads. This past summer My doctor informed me that my meniscus were trash. Now I'm an old cyclists ... one who still loves the gravel roads. I just purchased the same steel Niner you have there and love it. What an awesome bicycle. I live in rural Michigan and it's the perfect bike.
Thanks for the video.
Stay well and happy riding. -
I'm done with road racing. I want a bike that's all around and best suited for touring on gravel and smooth roads. The kind of rides that's going to make me enjoy cycling again. No need for the hassle of getting kitted to ride an imaginary Tour De France. Great looking bike and great video.

Great video. Several valid points that are really well mate. In my 40's here too, ridden both mountain and road. Gravity focused trails tends to beat me up these days and doesn't have the appeal that it once had. Agree entirely on the road situation, just too much anger and hostility coming from motorists, so unnecessary. Riding in the UK, Sustrans have worked wonders creating cycling networks both off road and on quiet road sections. This type of bike is where I think I'm heading.
Cheers for the insight, been super helpful. -
Clement "Ush." I'm pretty sure it's the Clement U.S.H.

My concern (with another person's comment): pedal strikes. I have a cx with a high bb, which really helps me in singletrack. I tried a Cannondale Slate: loved it, but kept on banging pedals in singletrack. Graeme and others: please comment on pedal strikes with your gravel-bike. Kind thanks, Flydyl

I guess it really takes a 30min Youtube video to convince folks to buy this US$ 4400.00 bike from Niner. For that amount of money one can also buy 2-3 bikes perfectly designed for each purpose.

nice video buddy, the ultimate bike is the one you get on with best ;) I do lots of touring and have an Alfine hub, you should do s video on them as lack of good bids on YouTube for info on them

can adventure bike be a hiking bike ?

A great video. Being in New England, what has been your experience riding in winter? Any advice on how to protect bike componentry from salt damage? My first thought would be to just use an old beater for those months, but I'm curious what others typically do.

Would a Trek Boone have the same slacker head angle as your niner? If not, what Trek bike compares? I've never had a CF frame. I ride an XT equipped Excaliber 8 now but wanted to get into this with Drop bars and Shimano shifters.

The disc brake heat thing is about the lamest excuse UCI has ever come up with. Have ridden on disc brakes for 13 years as a downhill racer and freerider. I have crashed, I have veered of course in to the crowd. I have had the bike land on me. Never once did a rotor injure me.

Great video. I just heard about gravel riding and am going to give it a try. I've done a fair amount of road riding in the past but not racing, except for triathlons for several years in my 40's. I've dabbled in mountain biking but don't care for much technical stuff . Anyway, the gravel riding sounds right up my alley. I like getting out on the road but don't like fighting with cars. I bought a Surly Long Haul Trucker last month and it has me loving riding again. Thanks to some new bike trails in the area, I have been able to commute to work on occasion, 14 plus miles with over half on separate bike paths. My LHT came with 26X1.75 tires. I could go up to I believe 2.1 as far as clearance. It is steel frame with a touring geometry as you probably know. Just wondering what your thoughts are on the LHT for gravel grinding. Thanks!

Great video. I'm at these crossroads right now. I really liked road riding back in the day, I don't want to get run over out there the way things are these days. I just picked up a nice hardtail mt bike and want something that has drops that I can ride on gravel trails and some minor off road, through grass, etc and still be able to burn up the road a little when I encounter some pavement. I'm thinking of going with a Kona Jake. I have the opportunity to go with a brand new clearance 2015 model or the 2017 model, but I noticed the newer one has a lower BB and they claim 'upgraded geometry' - that tells me that this is the one to get especially if I plan to use it more like a gravel bike over a cyclocross racer. Thanks !!

What is it? A RLT Steel? Can't find the dark colour scheme on their website!
