The swing away arm allows you to conveniently swing the rack out 180 degrees, providing full access to the rear of your vehicle with the bikes loaded. To use this feature, simply loosen the hand tightened knob on the base, pull out the spring-loaded safety pin and swing away. The 9027 Apex design incorporates Thule's new patented Road Dampening Technology RDT, EasyMount System and Integrated Snug-Tite Stinger for the highest level of protection, convenience, safety, and security. The combination of the EasyMount and Snug-Tite makes installing your bike rack quick and easy without any tools. When you're ready to install the rack, simply push the bike rack into your receiver until the integrated auto hitch pin snaps into place or engages with your hitch.
