Today we are going to review part number TH9029 from Thule. This is their Vertex 4 bicycle rack. A few quick notes about this bike rack. This bike rack will hold up to 4 bikes and is convertible between an 1-1/4 inch and 2 inch trailer hitch. The hitch switch allows the arms to fold when not in use and also tilts the carrier down for rear access of the vehicle. It does come with the hold fast cradles and the no sway cages standard. At the top of the bike rack the is a built in carry handle that makes it easy to transport the bike rack around. It also makes it easier to take it out of the vehicle and put it into the hitch. Lets go ahead and add the spacer to the stinger here, right now this is the 1-1/4 inch version. This is good for class 1 and class 2, 1-1/4 trailer hitches. However with the class 1 you are limited to just 2 bikes. Slide it over the top and we will install the bolt and the bike rack does come with included tools to do all this with.

No it definitely only came with the one, and the instructions with it only show the one. But everything I see online shows the two. We bought it at a large sporting goods store. Seems to work with the one, but I think it would be more stable with two.

You will want to route the cable through and around the frames of your bikes and then around the mast of the rack. You will have to get a little creative with this, but that is the general idea.

Your rack should have came with both pieces of the 2 inch adapter. Did you purchase the rack from etrailer?

Thanks much clearer than the instructions that came with the unit, which are horrible. One question. My unit only came with only a one piece 2" adapter, and both this video and another one, seem to show a second adapter piece that goes on before the one with the screw holes. Is that necessary, and is that something I need to purchaseseperately? The unit seems kind of wobbly without it.

How can I use the 6 foot cable lock to lock my bikes to the bike rack?

CURT Ball Mount #45810 need a review of this unit. I use a trailerblazer to pull a pop up camper and want to see this adaptor with my yakima four bike hitch carrier.I would love to see it being towed and turning. thanks.
