Please watch: "Best New Inventions, Gadgets, Designs for Camping, Water Sports, Adventure" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVJ8Jx0H1zc -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- If you like to ride fast you will want to have one of these recumbent trikes. They can go amazingly fast on pedal power alone. The last trike is by far the fastest, but it does have some e-assistance. You've got to admit, although trikes are aero dynamic, anyone riding one looks a right wus.
-
Wow. The terratrike section is just pure, 100% marketing hype. Their spin is great for people with no previous knowledge of any kind of recumbent trike.
Too bad they didn't include home built trikes as they are the ones that hold the majority of the speed records. -
Just saying, would be nice if they showed the speed driving at the time...
-
How did you leave a CarbonTrikes Race SL off this list -- it's probably faster than any of those you featured, especially downhill.
-
Yeah, Territrike Life-time warrantee, if the frame doesn't fold up on you and your the second owner......and no, I only weight 280lbs and on a rails to trails path.

Missing out on the Windcheetah is pretty bad, every real trike-aficionado will tell you, but you should research further and better. Better look at Europe, e.g. Netherlands, Germany.
Take look at this trike: http://www.velomobilforum.de/forum/index.php?media/hitrike-race-v2.9465/full&d=1459184118 Built by Patrick Hagemann from Germany, one of the world champions of 2015. His company is here: http://www.velomo.eu
Furhermore you should make a difference between e-assisted trikes and the one without electrical motors. Seems more fair, isn't it -
Agreed missing out the Windcheetah was a BIG mistake. Not only does it hold the Lands End > John O Groats record, they've just launched the FRO which only weighs 22lbs. 22lbs! http://windcheetah.co.uk

I've got up to 67 mph a couple of times on my Catrike and that's with a heavily re-enforced, re-sectioned leg- and yes of course that was going down hill.
-
walmart bikes go fast enough going down hill
-
Seriously, I got to the second segment. Manufacturer marketing videos without any objective speed data, just fun camera angles and effects. The second was titled dream rider, and I was through.

The problem with recumbents is that you can't effectively lock them making them unsuitable for personal transportation. They are for recreational use only!

Hase? HPVelotechnik Gekko FX 26"?Azub?....

I'd add the British-made Windcheetah. It is not just one of the fastest out there, but it has been the oldest recumbent trike design still in production: the original Windcheetah was built in 1981!
One of its trademarks is its Joystick steering system, wich coupled with the "cocoon" seat allows riders to take corners at extreme speeds by shifting their weight, as you can see here: https://youtu.be/yUwxnjI51J8
Here's one owner doing some drifting in the snow: https://youtu.be/kZ3r4lvGe8E
