One thing people can do is avoid over-regulated hell holes like NY. My RadRover is awesome and my area doesn't regulate the crap out of anything some politician(s) doesn't like. You don't want one until it's "safer", seriously? The only thing not safe is the person riding it, you control it, how do you expect to make it safer, you said a bell, great, most come with one, the one you might buy may not, so buy one, you control the safety, nobody else does, or should. It's like waiting for the Government to regulate soda.... oh wait....

Wow he don't want people to have them,only him. Mabey he's a republican. Well I built a Santa Cruz V10 cc downhill mountainbike with a 750w 8fun motor and it's completely legal. I can still hit over 40mph cause its a light ass carbon bike. Lol

I might just have to run one of these idiots over with a car, while they cycle with a helmet, because the cause of the crash was the car driver, not the road, not the car, not the helmet, not the ebike, the driver! Me! This type of thinking is why people blame cyclists for everything, people are the problem, not the vehicles that they use. Encourage ebikes! 20mph limit with 1000w as standard and a semi licenced class requiring a small number plate (see Germany) and a mandatory helmet and up it to 35mph 3000w and bi monthly sign-off at a local bike shop that the bike is safe to use, job done! Hell even do a written test to prove you know how to ride the damn thing, but keep it simple otherwise the whole thing is moot!

i'm driving 2500W bike on daily basis and it's not dangerous at all...I could go same speeds on road bike with just less acceleration, they don't have a clue about electric bikes..

Too much talk for the second half with the ebike conversion kit. Would have been more engaging if they demonstrated it with a converted bike.
And David isn't the best person talking about ebikes as he is evidently ignorant in this video by his lack of experience in the cycling culture, lack alone the the technical aspects of it. -

Obviously people who are afraid of riding an E bike that has a top speed of 28 mph have never had experiences riding motorcycles, coming from a motorcycle to an E bike there is zero fear since the motorcyclist has mastered the two wheel with a motor form of transportation. I say bring on 50 mph E bikes.
