But there's no slowing down for the film personality who has just released a poster for his next directorial venture, Uppi 2. "My creativity feeds on the love showered on me by my fans. In fact, they are a part of my filmmaking process," says Upendra. For Upendra, his birthday is 'Fans Day'. "They are the ones who have given us a job to do and making a film that is well-received by my fans feels like a birthday celebration," he says. In that sense, Uppi 2 is the actor's gift to his fans. It is the first film to be made under the banner of Upendra Productions and Upendra has handled its story, screenplay, dialogues and direction. His wife, Priyanka, is the producer. "Whether it is doing a film with another producer or it is my own production, my priority is direction. Production is a secondary responsibility," he says. The publicity campaign for Uppi2 which says, "Andu Uppi - Nanu, Indu Uppi 2 - Neenu (Back then Uppi was me, today Uppi 2 is you)," has fans puzzled and they have besieged him with questions on his Facebook page. Giving nothing away, he says of the mystery, "Uppi 2 will definitely be more colourful (than earlier films) with additional surprises. Watch out for more masala."
