Two Victory Riders Buy Sport Touring Bikes - BMW K 1600 GTL and Kawasaki Concours 14
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
Talk about coincidence. Two former Victory Motorcycle Owners and avid enthusiasts who live just miles apart both buy new sport touring motorcycles within just days of each other. In this video we'll take a quick look at their bikes and they'll tell you the motivation for moving from an American V-Twin Cruiser to a Sport Touring Motorcycle. Detailed initial reviews on each bike are coming soon to TheVOG.net

It's really hard for die hard Harley owners to understand, but not everyone wants a single pin vibration expander! Millions, MILLIONS of metrics and touring bikes have been sold for this reason alone!

Not true (...that a Harley owner wouldn't give up his Harley for one of these). I'm a Harley owner and will soon have the Kawasaki. Maybe I'm different, but I don't see anything wrong with riding which ever bike you choose. I love Harley-Davidsons...and I've owned quite a few of them. But I've also liked my Big Dog, my Buell, my Ducati, and my ZX12. If it has two wheels...it's fine by me! I can't wait to get my hands on one of these!

Love my 1995 ElectraGlide, but hate Harley Davidson for forcing old school dealers out of business for not wanting to put in the million dollar boutique store and for putting a cheap ass INA cam bearing that hand grenaded a stock motor at only 65,000 miles....just bought a used Concours 14, but still have the Glide which I do not plan on selling ever....Love Harleys, but hate the company and the attitude that goes with it!!!!

Tell Motus to make their bikes cheaper and we Would.... Or better yet... Harley shouldn't have screwed over buell and tried to force cruisers down the Youth of America..... All this is saying is Americans Want Sport Tourers too.... If Motus wasn't so DAMN EXPENSIVE..... or if we still had buell... I'd buy an American bike.

This is most interesting. I recently sold my Vision (which I really like very much) and bought a Kawasaki Concours myself. I think the allure of a lighter but more powerful bike which can handle the twisties with veritable ease were large parts of my decision. Certainly would have gone with a BMW had it been in the budget, though.

WHAT A CLASS ACT!!! THESE ARE TRUE MOTORCYCLISTS! YOU WON'T HEAR OR SEE THIS VERY OFTEN AT A HARLEY DEALERSHIP! THEY WILL BULLY AND TEASE YOU INTO BUYING A H.D.! I WILL BE HAPPY, AS LONG AS THEY KEEP THEIR VICTORY MOTORCYCLES! THEY WILL HAVE THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS!

I'm no communist; I think u should ride whatever u want. Having said that, I want a Vision AND a XC...I like em BOTH

I own a GTL and riding it feels like flying an F-15. For the massive size and weight of the bike, it's performance and handling are phenomenal. Get one! You won't regret it.

my son and i were watching the LAPD during their bike tests running through orange cones. the road king and the bmw 1200 rt. it was truely laughable, i was laughing my ass off so hard tears were coming out of my eyes. gonna pay off a couple of bills and pick myself up one of those gtls. riding that bike feels like sitting in a cockpit of an F-15... the one with the most miles wins.

heated grips, heated seat, and a windshield would have made a big difference. i remember almost flying through the back of someone's back window, because my hands were so frozen, i could not squeeze the brake lever. also, hd's and many other chopper type bikes are tempermental, breaking down in the middle of no where is no fun either. few years down the line i left my org on good terms tattooed the "out date" and rode whatever the hell i wanted to after that.

there is no comparison between the BMW and the cross country. i guess you can say im one of those guys that saw the light. i was a purist for years, the only jap bike i owned was when i was 15, and from that point on i was riding some kind of "american made" bike. rigids, dynas, and the last HD softail. a club member too, and we averaged 20k plus miles a year. it wasnt fun stuffing seran wrap in my gloves because i was freezing my ass off riding in 20 deg weather.

This is a good example of guys going through a midlife crisis... lol

Really! I've owned plenty of Harley's over the years and I've sold them to buy a lot of different bikes. You REALLY need to get a life.
-
I wasn't aware BMW's came from Japan! LOL

To set the record straight I am not a former Victory owner. I still have one but after seven of them it was time for a change. I wanted something more aggressive and still have the cruiser for when I want to relax.
-
I actually own both a Victory Vision and a Kawasaki C-14 Concours Sport Touring bike. Each one serves a purpose.

After seeing this video I'm thinking of getting a Yamaha FJR1300. Maybe DSJR and MJW930 can work with Victory to make a Sport Touring bike from the Vision platform. For a cruiser Victory Kingpin with the fenders bobbed and try the High Ball handles bars. Or get the Yamaha Raider with 2 into one exhaust and a custom seat. I like the riding position of the Yamaha Raider.
