If you ride a bicycle you will eventually have to learn how to change a flat tire. In an earlier video we showed you the necessary steps in order to quickly and painlessly fix a flat tire while riding. In this video Graham discusses what causes flat tires and how to decipher the differences between them. The most common culprit of a flat tire on a bicycle is a puncture caused by a thorn, sharp glass or debris on the roadway. Another scenario is known as a pinch-flat or sometimes called a "snake-bite". The pinch flat is caused by hitting a large pot hole, dropping off a curb or not having enough tire pressure while you ride. When the tire compresses, the tube is pressed against the rim and causes two small holes in your tube.
