Here we listed all the upcoming new above 250cc and 300cc bikes in India in 2016, 2017. 1.Yamaha MT-03 Despite being late in the quarter-litre segment, Yamaha is enjoying decent sales from its only 300cc bike – the Yamaha R3. In order to further expand its lineup, the Japanese automaker is planning to launch the naked streetfighter – the Yamaha MT 03 – in the Indian two-wheeler market. It is basically the naked version of the YZF R3. The bike will be brought to India via CKD route from Indonesia, and then assembled locally. The bike shares most of its styling cues from the bigger MT series bikes in the company’s global lineup. it is based on a compact and lightweight diamond steel chassis that also underpins the fully-faired YZF-R3. The bike comes equipped with single headlamp, air intake pods on the fuel tank sides, clip-on handle bar and a digital analogue instrument cluster. The Yamaha MT-03 will share its engine specs with the fully-faired R3. The 321cc, 4-stroke parallel-twin liquid-cooled DOHC engine that is capable of producing 41.6bhp of power at 10,750rpm and 30Nm of torque at 9,000rpm. It will be the most powerful bike in its segment. Power will be transmitted to the rear wheels via a 6-speed gearbox. The braking system comprises of front and rear hydraulic single disc brakes, combined with dual-channel anti-lock braking system. Suspension duties will be carried out by telescopic fork upfront and a monoshock rear suspension. 2.BMW G310R The G310R naked streetfighter will be the first product jointly developed by BMW and TVS strategic alliance. First unveiled at the 2015 Milan Motor Show, the bike made its Indian debut at the 2016 Auto Expo. This will be the cheapest BMW bike in the country. The production of the G310R has already commenced at TVS Motor Company’s Hosur-based plant in Bengaluru. Adding to it, the 300cc bike will also be exported to select international markets from India. The naked motorcycle will come in two variants – With and Without ABS. Design highlights include TVS Draken concept-inspired fuel tank and headlamp cluster, single projector headlamp, back-to-front cylinder setup, large rear wheel brake and side mount exhaust. Suspension mechanism of the bike comprises of inverted telescopic fork upfront and monoshock at the rear. The braking duties will be carried out by 300mm single disc and 240mm rear disc with 2-piston floating caliper at front and rear, respectively. This naked street-fighter is propelled by an all-new 313cc backward-tilted, 4-stroke, single-cylinder water-cooled engine coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. This engine is capable of producing 34bhp of power and 28Nm of torque. It is claimed to return 36.05kmpl of mileage and offers a top speed of 145kmph. 3.TVS AKULA 310 Buoyed by positive response for new Apache RTR 200 4V, TVS Motor Company is now planning to launch its most powerful bike – the Akula 310 – in the country. Unveiled at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo as concept, the Akula 310 is the fully-faired version sportsbike based on the BMW G310R platform. It is expected to be launched under Apache brand, and could be named Apache RTR 300. Besides the platform, the new Akula 310 also shares its engine and several components with the BMW G310R. Powering the Akula 310 is a 313cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder water-cooled engine that also powers the naked G310R. This engine is capable of producing 33.4bhp of power at 9,500rpm and 28Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. Power will be transmitted to the rear wheels via a 6-speed gearbox. The bike is expected to have a top speed of around 155-165kmph. Key features include single projector headlamps, side mounted exhaust system, dual-channel ABS, and inverted telescopic fork upfront and monoshock rear suspension. 4.SUZUKI GIXXER 250 Seeing the growing demand for quarter-litre bikes, Suzuki is planning to launch an affordable 250cc bikes in the country. Named Gixxer 250 or GSX-250, the bike will make its world debut either at the 2016 Intermot Motorcycle Show or EICMA. The bike has been spotted a couple of times during test rounds on foreign soil. The bike will share its styling cues from the bigger Suzuki’s including GSX-1000R. It will be powered by a 250cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which is likely to produce around 25bhp of power and 21Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the rear wheels via a 6-speed gearbox. The bike will be based on the Suzuki’s GSX platform, and shares its design features with the GSX-R1000. Features like instrument cluster and switchgear consoles will be shared from its powerful sibling. Other styling includes sporty tank, swing-arm, raked split seats, clip-on handlebars, edgy tail section, standard fork upfront and monoshock rear brakes, hayabusa inspired large headlamp unit, digital instrument cluster and LED taillights, single exhaust with twin aperture, etc.
