There are many things I like about vintage bicycles. They are built to last a lifetime, simple and comfortable. In addition to these is the fact that they contain many items not found on current bicycles such as fender ornaments, revolving brass bells, celluloid grips, handlebar bades, rod brakes, enameled head badges, chromed crown forks, beaded edge tires, chrome tipped forks, chrome beaded edge rims, ornate fender stays, mud flaps, sprung leather saddles and enameled rear fender badges just to name a few. In other words, they don't make them like they used to. This is the first half of a two part series appropriately entiteld: "They don't make them like they used to".
