bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
http://electricbikereview.com/volton/alation-500/ A sturdy, powerful and affordable trail-ready electric mountain bike. Improvements for the 2014 version include a nicer headlight, extended rear fender and updated battery cover with rubber seal to keep dust out and reduce rattling. Strong 500 watt geared hub motor pairs perfectly with the 48 volt battery which is mounted in the downtube to stay out of the way and keep weight low and centered.

I know some people that have had their walmart ezip trail electric bikes for 7 years, and they still work great, so l cant justify paying the ridiculous amounts of money they want for these "higher end" electric bikes.

While $2,000 is not cheap, this bike gives you a lot for your money. When you look at the cost of higher end bikes ($3,000 to $10,000), the Alation is a good compromise. It can run with the big dogs of ebike without the shake, rattle and roll embarrassment of the lower cost (eBay/Amazon) ebikes.

where can i get one ?

its still cheaper to build your own bike from scratch with better motor, controller and battery.
-
how will you ever be able to swap the battery out when it goes bad????? its built into the frame.

By pedal assist do you mean you need to always be pedaling with it? Or is there also a different bike only mode, im new to this so this might be a dumb question lol.

I have never bumped my front fender ever, what are you on about?

Nice kick stand, a lot of mountain bikes don't have kick stands. SOLD!

I didn't expect that you would post it that fast, nice!
Question for you, what are your thoughts on getting an ebike from a lesser known company like Volton? There are not a lot of vendors around, there is also not a lot of review information out there aside from your reviews, so it makes it tough for someone that is relatively new to the ebike game to buy in.
To my naked eye it looks like these bike companies buy all of their parts from other companies, slap their logo on a frame and call it their own. Thats what makes it difficult for me to decide on which company to go with
