Vulcan S Windshield Install
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
A simple windshield install on a Kawasaki Vulcan S. I recommend if you get nothing else get a windshield for this bike at slow speeds it might not be needed but at higher speeds the wind buffeting can get pretty bad and it will keep you warmer and cleaner. This is the large Kawasaki windshield and mounting brackets installation. Sorry for the poor editing. Its my first attempt at this kind of thing

I think the windscreen looks great on the bike, even better than the smaller visors on the cafe version. Are you feeling much wind pushing your head back?
-
It's funny but now that I think about it, the wind never bothers me anymore like when it did when I first started riding. I don't even notice wind unless it is gusty out.

dude...I cant get my quick releases to release....that is my huge problem.

it's easy to do this when you haven't got a prior shield on it. but, I am dealing with hell trying to replace the smaller windshield with the bigger one (the one you have) and by myself. of all the windshields I have installed on all my bikes this is the most asinine and least user friendly ever. oh...and, God forbid you don't have a windbreak to keep the wind from hitting you while you do this. come on, Kawasaki, did you have to have 600 loose parts on this? could you have knocked down a few of them at least? other than this, you did a great job in the video. I see on mine the dealership put some kind of rubber cement on the washers etc, to keep them together. did you do that?

I purchased the wind shield brackets but it did not fit right ......the groves that hold it together were miss aligned -- you would have to bend the bracket to make it fit right
but it was chrome plated and may break if bent . two different sets of bracket the same story . -
i am sure you will enjoy it.

Hi Goldengeko, is this the large or medium windshield that you installed?

I like that it is a quick disconnect without tools, But I would love to see a Madstad engineering Robo Tilt/Height adjustment Bracket adapted to it for tilt and height adjustment with no tools that would allow you to adjust it and get rid of all buffeting, or just have height adjustment when needed.
I like that it is a small shield that you can easily see over the top, as i do Not like looking through a shield. Shield Height is Right when top of shield is about even with your chin/lips, it looks about right to me, especially of you had tilt and height adjustment on it. -
I like the Memphis Slim Shield and mount, as it is a quick disconnect shield, for that bike. It takes less than 10 seconds to very quickly remove the windshield, so you can go from windshield to naked very fast, also SW motech has their Blaze panniers that are also quick disconnect, very fast.

The resistance of the wind makes it fun imo :3

nice work! Can you tell anything about vibrations behind the windshield? greetings from the Netherlands!

Nice job!
Did you get a deal on the windshield? How much was it?
Also, did you see the medium height shield as well? What do you think of that one?
