MORE ON OUR BLOG: https://www.purefixcycles.com/blogs/fixie-news/83103431-pftv3-what-are-bikes-made-of In this Episode of Pure Fix TV Amanda breaks down what bikes are made of and how the differences in materials relate to the experience of the rider. Hi-Ten Steel: High Tensile steel is what many bikes are made of, including the Pure Fix Original Series, because it is both durable as well as affordable. When well cared for steel can last a very long time. Original Series: https://www.purefixcycles.com/collections/all/pure-fix-original Chromoly: Chromoly is a steel alloy and is stronger and thinner than Hi-Ten steel, making it lighter. The Pure Fix Premier Series of bikes are made from chromoly. Premium Series: https://www.purefixcycles.com/collections/all/pure-fix-premium Aluminum: Aluminum is lighter and stiffer than a steel frame and is super responsive. The Pure Fix Keirin Track bikes are aluminum - making them super light and fast! Keirin Frames: https://www.purefixcycles.com/pages/keirin-track-bikes Carbon Fiber: The lightest and strongest of all the bike materials on our list, carbon fiber is also the most expensive. A good way to shave weight off your bike is by adding a carbon fiber fork. Carbon Fiber Fork: https://www.purefixcycles.com/products/pure-fix-pro-carbon-fork THANKS FOR WATCHING! I love learning my chemistry and physics from a young dancing woman. However, she did fail to mention titanium.

Can a throne be used to go to school and more of a casual way rather than racing?
-
if i had carbon forks and aluminum frame is that good for speed and commute ?
-
Lightweight modern steel. At least four crashes which would have totalled alu and carbon fibre. Does the cols too.
-
Another thing, it's hard to recycle carbon.
-
great, now you're going to have a bunch of inexperienced riders with carbon forks that will surely crack or snap easily. these inexperienced riders will not be aware of small cracks and will continue to ride these now extremely unsafe bikes. this video should have gone into more detail about all types.

regular steel is an alloy too just sayin'
-
cromo steel is the real deal.
-
Could a carbon fork break while commuting? Is hard enough ?
-
