Are there any bikes that are under $1000? I don't want to spend too much money on a dike. I'm 5'11" and 178lbs. I'm also 17. Any thoughts on which bike to get? I want a trail/off-road bike. I was thinking maybe a 230 because of the low maintenance, but I'm worried that a 250 requires a lot of maintenance.

That Honda XR100R isn't in stores. You have to get one off Craigslist or EBay which I don't mess with. Too many scammers :(

Kawasaki now makes a KLX140G, which has full-sized wheels. Looks like it would be a fantastic beginner bike for anyone that's a bit too tall for something like the XR100 while being lighter than the 230s. The downside is that since it's new, there won't be any used ones to be found for someone who doesn't want to spend the money on a new bike.

I'm 5'9-10 and 125 pounds. What would b a nice bike for casual trail riding?
-
Four strokes are not easier to maintain then 2 strokes. There aren't valves in 2 strokes and they are wah easier to maintain.
