None of this is intuitive...

LOL, health and safety would never allow this now, more's the pity...

all may not get a proffesor like him

I really don't like this video. The teacher doesn't explain clearly 'why' these things are happening. Saying things like 'isn't it amazing' gives the idea as if physics is a form of magic or something. He already knows why these things are happening, but does a poor job of transferring the knowledge on 'why' these things are happening to the students. Then he jumps into inertia out of nowhere? Plus the quality of the video is very poor.

none of this is intuitive. that is true.

could you show us where are the reactions from W ?

The effect of torque on angular momentum is to make it precess about an axis that is perpendicular to both of them

Hey, he probably just wanted to spin a few of his students on his pecker.. You know, for experimental purposes.. Where's the harm in that?

I imagined hiding six gyroscopes inside a cardboard box and letting elementary-school kids experience that peculiar inertial frame of reference that would have all the torque of a gyroscope canceled out but the resistance to change in orientation would remain. I suppose I could just buy a navigational gyro, since that is how they are made. No. Can't do that. They're kinda pricey. Maybe it would not be necessary to put the gyros in pairs (N-S), depending on how the torque from the gyros oriented in the other directions cancels the torque from each gyro... (?)
Counter-intuitive, yes. I am thinking what it would feel like to turn a box with three gyros. Depending on which direction they are spinning, I would expect to feel a different force when I change the orientation of the cube. The gyros would need to be in pairs, with a north and south pole pointing up, a N & S pole pointing right, N & S pointing forward.

yea, none of it is fuckin intuitive

Is he from this Planet.???
I don't think so.!! -
there is something magical about people who are passionate about their work, unlike 99% of the test who are just plain robots with 0 ingenuity
