Reasons why I never went to a larger bike like a 750, 1000, etc.

I miss the old days with you and rebelyell riding around posting vids all the time. doing meetups and stuff. hell I remember when you both had 250s.

Good vid ... Yet I highly doubt it that a 600 can keep up or compete with a 1000... It's just not logical ... Yet I have a zx6 loved it to death .... I just upgraded ... And the extra CCs is extremely noticeable .... Wow ... Ride safe

Really debating between F4i and FZ6 for my next bike here. Any thoughts? :)
-
And I can personally guarantee you that the F4i does not do 0 to 60 in under 3 seconds and top out anywhere near 170 mph..... Not saying that you need a liter bike, but either you got the worlds pimpest F4i or you don't know what you're talking about

I got my 2009 Honda CBR600RR (RA technically -> ABS version, but what's the difference besides the 500-1000 bucks for the ABS option the first year it was an option?) for 4800 dollars, well-loved right around 15k miles. By well-loved, i mean it's laid on its side once or twice, but it's such minor fairing damage that if I painted over the scratches, itd mean very little, so i dont bother. My point being that compared to my 2012 ninja 650, this is still relatively comfortable (the 650 was upright, so its a tough comparison), I still get over 40 MPG no matter if I decide to smash on the freeway doing 150+ at points, the bike is well-engineered, reliable as fuck and FUN (and cheaper than my 650 which i felt less control over because it was less agressive as a whole and thus, felt less nimble in turns and less confidence inspiring going a bit sideways)! I smile every time I get on it, even just pulling out of a parking lot, or going to class. This bike is too much for the streets to need, and I will never take it to its full potential because I'm 1) not that skilled and I admit it readily and 2) I dont want to crash and lose one of the best things Ive ever recieved. Ride on, ride safe and love your cbr600. I love it actively every day.

What insurance u go threw

My Triumph Speed Four 600cc runs out of steam before 140.

That bike will do 170?!?

Agreed.I had a GSXR 600 for about 1 year with no problems, loved it but one of my friends was always jumping on the back and found i was shifting through the gears more than i liked so i upgraded to 1000cc.Apart from that there really was no need i didn't enjoy it any more. You can only go as fast as the road lets you.

You're right, you only need, well I should say crave, a 1000 if your a little bit crazy. But, I am a little crazy lol. The fact about it though, for the skill level and type of riding that almost all people will ever do a 600 is plenty. All bikes will go through corners at the same speed (you can only go so fast). And, to be honest 90% of riders will never reach the limit of a 600 series. The benefits of a 1000, or the only reason I go 1000 is because I do dumb stuff. Here, in FL it's mostly straight and warm and it's all about looking good, but there are a lot of midnight drags if you will. The only thing a 1000 has on a 600 is power and top end. The zx10r for example, will do 90 in first gear, 0-60 in 2.7 seconds, pull a power wheelie at 140+ miles an hours. Exciting yes, but you have! have! HAVE! to respect the bike and road. This is not for beginners or even people who haven't pushed their smaller bike to it's limits. And honestly, none of us will ever push a 1000 to it's limits like a pro. So really, just get a comfortable bike hit twisties or drag or tour or whatever you want to do, but the bigger you go the more respect and money you need to have.

what are your thoughts on the cbr500r?

Thanks!

Great vlog.. well said.

lot of experts are in agreement now that liter bikes are irrelevant, even on a track. smaller 600's are more nimble and quicker through corners. they eat up the power advantage of the liter bikes. even look at the isle of man average lap times and lap speeds. the difference is about 2mph over the entire course. liter bikes are for those who are extremely talented, enough so to squeeze out the extra performance, or for ego maniacs.

i also have a 2006 F4i, its the blue/black one... I absolutely love it; however, alot of the people i ride with snicker at the banana seat, but if i allow them to test drive it, they're usually blown away at how good it feels and how well it handles.

Love it. Thanks for the comment.

I guess, but I don't do wheelies.

Roll on wheelies & torque sure are great though.

A 1000cc bike is for the track. It's hard enough as it is to push a 600cc sports bike to it's limits on the road. My 99 cbr600F was in need of a service, running on 3 cylinders, and it still outpaced BMW m5 that wanted to race. Unless you are John McGuinness, Guy Martin or Michael Dunlop, you're not going to be able to make the most of the extra performance a 1000 brings to the road. You will still be outpaced by a braver and more talented rider on a smaller bike. Save money and stick with a 600
