Are Walmart bikes safe? In this video, my buddy Luke demonstrates how hastily assembled this bike was. Raw, unedited footage. Sorry about the image stabilization going crazy. if you go threrly go thrugh the bike and make sure everything is all good with the bike and all of the parts in the bike it is a great bike that will last you a long time and it also about if you bild the bike or if Wal-Mart or if it came pre- bilt.
-
Its the same with Halfords bikes in the UK.

I'd say the back rim is warped might just need the spokes tightened. Oh and the problem with the front forks that's easy......... it's called dumbass employee making 8$ per hour didn't or doesn't care about putting it together right......Fight for 15👍👍

i bought a panama jack from them and the first thing i did was get the tire aired up and when he came back with my bike he said the tire was faulty so he replaced it
-
Walmart bikes aren't bad, you just need to replace the wheel, pedal, chain, handlebar, fork, seat, frame.
-
wal mart is for toilet paper not bikes.
-
If you buy a bike from a none bike store you 100% have to go through everything and tune it or take it to a bike shop to be tuned.
-
It's not backwards, it's just a Manitou fork.

so I was a bike builder at my local walmart for 3 years before I finally said fuck you all and got myself a job at my local bike shop, So I think I can shed some light on this topic....
Walmart hires locally, they offer little to no training in the safe assembly, or proper adjustment of bicycles. and they offer no final check over or safety checks before the bicycle is purchased. As for who they hire, pretty much anybody, They Got lucky with me because I had previous experience maintaining my own bicycles, and i had my own tools, that's another thing by the way, they had almost no specific tool sets for the bike builders(of which they are probably 3 or 4 at a big store) all of which know they are not accountable for anything that may happen to the rider of their shitty builds and thus don't really care (for the most part, sometimes you get that rare person who knows what they're doing) and will slap the bikes together as fast as they can, BECAUSE that is basically what their told to do by their managers, is build 15-20 bikes a day. and as for what kind of warranty they give you? well basically they give you 3 months to decide if you like the bike (in that time you can totally trash it) take it back to the store with your receipt and they'll give you another brand new bike.
So there you have it, what is basically going on behind the scenes, builders who don't know what their doing, a company that offers no training to them, and does not care nothing about the safety of their customers while using the products they sell, and very inexpensive, low end "Bicycles" which low quality parts that will fail quickly, (and from my experience tend not to work properly at all out of the box.
my take, get a bike shop bike, ideally, if you cant afford that, find a good old bike, like a 70s or 80s schwinn or a bridgestone or something, and fix it, if you cant fix it, your local shop would fix it for about what a new cheap bike would cost, except the bicycle would be sturdy and reliable. and if you absolutely must buy a bike at a walmart.... take it straight to your local shop and ask for a safety tune to make sure its working properly, and is safe -
Boy if you will be a fool, that bike is wrong assembled. Just need to adjust the loose and misplaced and ready parts.
I bought two bikes online at Walmart and I always ask my lead them home in his box.
Since we do not know assemble them as doing free put any employee who has no idea how a bicycle is assembled.
the problem here is that some walmarts are outsourcing the building of bikes power wheels and other display items to a company of retards who got their first tool box. then you got the walmarts where the guy has experience building a bmx bike or a kids bike and has no clue what derailers are and how to set up the new style v-ram brakes. damn i miss working the wheels department of toys r us. lol

and they want 15 dollars an hour

Hopefully yall pointed it out to a manager so some poor kid whose parents don't know any better gets that bike for their birthday. Good video, much thnx guys.

FORK ON BACKWARDS LOL
-
Looks like this is meant more as a customer service issue than anything to do with the bike. I guess if you can't assemble and maintain a bike this could be an issue.
