This is my review of the Windsor Wellington 2.0 from BikesDirect. http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/windsor/wellington2-xv.htm Very solid bike, highly recommended for someone looking for anything better than a department store bike. Thanks for watching.

I had this bike a few years ago............put 1800 miles on it and I can tell you it is a solid bike and rides as well as my $850 Bianchi. Tires, brakes, everything held up well with that mileage. My only advice, and this is something I had to do is remove the crappy rim tape and replace it with some good rim tape or you will suffer flats (Snake bites) left and right. I put a new post, seat and stem because I liked the bike so much. To the original poster, you;re not supposed to cross chain because you will be wearing everything out. If you're on your large crank on the front, you should be on your smallest 2 or 3 gears and no more. If you have to be on the 4th or 5th in the rear, you should be on your middle crank, etc.

How much does it weight without any of the add-ons? This'll be my first road bike I'll be purchasing, i'll be riding with friends and riding to highschool so hopefully it's good :D

What size of brake pads does it take? Ordered Wellington 2.0 just now and want to get Salomon Koolstops right away, but not sure which size. I'm assuming its "Continental" since these brakes are not "Dura Ace/ Ultegra"

Would you change the cassette?

+Chad H Thanks Chad, glad you liked the review. As per your question: the size that I ordered was the 50cm version. I am 5'4" and find that it is a good fit for me. The stem however is a bit long and i find that I am stretched out just a tad. When my 5'11 brother rode it, he noted that it felt pretty good to him and he rides a 56cm bike. Since you are 5'8", you might want to opt for the 53cm (judging by BikeDirect's sizing guide on the website.) Many people that I know, and on the internet, say that when in doubt opt for the smaller fit though. So all in all it comes down to you, you can ask a bike shop who know more about fit but to be honest I doubt a 3cm change in frame size will be of any major difference.

How was the assembly for this bike? Anything in particular I would need besides the usual wrenches and hex keys? Thanks!
