What they quoted Robbin Williams saying about riding a bike is the closest thing to being able to fly; it's true. A bike allows you to have a feeling of being 1 the earth and everything in it. The hum of tires gives you feeling of moving across this world (earth)by my on means/power. I couldn't ride a bike for 23 years due to head injury and serious balance issues. Now at 55; I can again find the machine that I so loved as a child and enjoyed for a big part of my life that I very much missed.

No, it's not uniquely American or Minnesotan. Look at Amsterdam Centraal Station or Assen Railway Station on Christmas eve at 5:30 PM Central European Time and you will see loads of cyclists.

Meanwhile in the east coast, they hibernate cuz it's only 20. And in the south, cuz it's 40. I like that Minnesotans are outdoorsy not matter the clime. Though idk about bike riding. I'd rather go ice skating.

Great video, captured the essence. Saw myself at the 1:22 mark. Are you a rider?

I just found the simple yet profound joy of winter riding last year here in Minnesota-and this short films gets it just about right. Well done.
