This is especially the case when you are jumping near giant ocean swells that will beat you into the rocks if you are not careful. This video is the perfect example of a cliff jump gone wrong. What I found out the hard way is that the ocean waves come in cycles. After every 3-5 waves there will be a calm spot before another cycle of ginormous waves come barreling down on you. If you are going to attempt an epic cliff jump like this one I would recommend both understanding the ocean's wave cycle, and having a clear idea of where to climb back up. If you don't have a good perspective on those two elements the next fail just might be you!
