I have a 6R and I love it! Great all around bike. Nice vid man!

Hey buddy, I'm actually moving to Perth pretty soon for uni and I'm looking at either the ninja 300 or the FZ6R 2011-2014, im not sure if you have experience on super sports compared to touring, but what would you suggest, mainly just back and forth to work and stuff like that, not much crazy driving. im still learning and have very little experience on a bike at all, I was happy with the ninja till most people said getting a 600cc would be better. hope to see you around Perth sometime.
-
I had one, pretty solid bike. Just like you i hated the exhaust. Just to expensive for a replacement set.
-
I've been trying to find an exhaust for my bike too
-
I have an 09 and love it. Great comfortable riding position.
-
I have a FZ6R and i really enjoy riding it, i have a bad back so the riding position is better than the R6. you can get a M4 Exhaust that is cheaper and comes from america, i have one on my bike and it sounds great
-
im thinking of either getting this bike ,the ninja 650 or the cb650r what you guys think on these 3 bikes ?.
-
Just got offered one of these on trade.. Still liking it?
-
Have you unrestricted the bike at all? My sister just bought one almost identical to yours as an upgrade from her ninja 250 and she has her open licence so unrestricting it is going to be one of the first things to do. Have you seen the IXIL exhaust systems at all? 750 bucks for a full system. Have a look at Xtrem Performance in Kelmscott. Probably what we are going to look at for her FZ6R.

Why the fz6 vs fz07
-
hey man weird question how tall are you lol?
-
Cheers for the video, mate. Really helping me in my decisions for a bike. What would you think of this as a first bike? My only other experience is on the XT250 at the basic rider course (a.k.a. none) but I found a really good deal on a 2012 model FZ6R so was wondering your thoughts? My other option is a CBR500R with ABS, how would you compare the two? Cheers!
PS. Sorry for the 20 questions. :-P -
I also got the 2013 model which I purchased in Nov last year and I couldn't agree with you more with regards to the sitting position, its great for the short ride about town, the commute to work or a long ride up in the hills etc etc
With regards to power, restricted it does suck very badly, you can feel that the bike wants to accelerate more and which it does but quite slowly. I've de-restricted mine and it's quite a lot faster but not a scary, wheel up in the air fast...
The acceleration is much faster and can definitely feel it pull much harder, but like you said it wont be as fast as an R6 or nay other 600cc I believe because of engine tuning, weight of the bike (200odd kgs opposed to 180ish for an R6), and perhaps gearing??? With the exhaust, you can either modify the existing one or look up one of the following:
Marthy Danmoto, IXIL Extrem which I think has a dealer in Perth??? Screaming Demon also sold by IXIL and there is another company in the US called MJS Performance that make a system which I what I will be getting for mine very soon! Perhaps I could even do a review on the system once I have it installed??? :)
Anyway.... It is a great bike to start off with even with minimal or close to no experience riding, like myself this is my first bike ever and I had only ridden a dirt bike for 20mins many many years ago, I also chose it for it's size, style and smoothness as other bikes seemed small or just weren't what I was after...
Hope the info above helps??? -
ive got the same bike but in blue and i agree with you about the mirrors
i have ordered a few things for my bike, tinted windshield, fender eliminator and rear hugger so once they get here and i put them on it should look pretty good -
would this be a good bike for someone with experience riding dirt bikes think only ridden 250s though ? and whats the wate like do u feel it when u r at lower speeds
-
hey mate what u think about the m4 exhaust ?? . i am thinking about getting one. i am not sure what one to get . 650 ninja or the fz6r. what do u think mate
-
Cheers! Really like this bike! What's it like with a pillion?
-
Nice. I'm looking at all the middleweight sports bikes trying to figure out my next bike. It's a hard choice. Cheers:)
